Welcome to the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) Program, a comprehensive course
designed by the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) and College of MAS.
This program will provide a comprehensive overview of both fundamental and advanced
laparoscopic techniques. Our distinguished faculty will share their expertise, ensuring that participants gain
essential knowledge for safe and effective practice in minimal access surgery. We encourage active participation
in the sessions, which are tailored for both surgeons and gynecologists. Your involvement will contribute to a
dynamic and collaborative learning environment. Through a combination of expert-led lectures, interactive
discussions, and demonstration sessions, participants will gain unparalleled insights into:

Register for FMAS Course
Once your membership is confirmed, register for an upcoming FMAS Skill Course.
Attend Skill Course
Participate in the 3-day comprehensive training program.
Day 1
Fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery, equipment, instrumentation, basic techniques, and common procedures like appendectomy and cholecystectomy.
Day 2
Advanced procedures including hernia repair, GERD management, Bariatric surgery overview, Gynecological procedures, SILS, Robotic surgery overview, specialized techniques for various conditions and Examination for registered gynecologist candidates
Day 3
FMAS examination for registered surgeon candidates.
Take FMAS Examination
Complete theory, practical, and viva examinations.
Attend Convocation
Receive your FMAS certificate at the formal convocation.

- Fundamentals: Laparoscopic surgery basics, equipment, instrumentation, appendectomy, cholecystectomy.
- Advanced Procedures: Hernia repair, GERD management, bariatric overview, robotic surgery, gynecological procedures (TLH, myomectomy, hysteroscopy, endometriosis), exams for gynecologists.
- Examination for Surgeons: FMAS examination exclusively for surgeon candidates.

Complete theory, practical, and viva examinations.
Attend Convocation
Receive your FMAS certificate at the formal convocation.

How to Apply for Membership

Click on “Membership” and select “Apply for Membership” or click on the button right side
Fill out the application form with your personal and professional details
Upload required documents (medical degree, registration certificate, etc.)
Pay the membership fee online
Await confirmation email (typically within 24 hours)
FMAS Application Process

Day 1:
Fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery, equipment, instrumentation, basic techniques, and common procedures like appendectomy and cholecystectomy.
- Common session for all participants until lunch: Fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery, equipment, instrumentation, basic techniques, and common procedures like appendectomy and cholecystectomy.
- Post-lunch: Endotrainer sessions for gynecologists; continued surgical techniques for surgeons.
- Two parallel sessions in separate halls:
- Surgeons’ Hall: Advanced procedures including hernia repair, GERD management, bariatric surgery overview, SILS, robotic surgery overview, and specialized techniques.
- Gynecologists’ Hall: Specialized gynecological procedures including TLH, myomectomy, hysteroscopy, and endometriosis management, followed by both practical and theory FMAS examinations for gynecologists. Gynecologists can depart after completing their examinations.
Note: Gynecologists are not required to attend.

Examination is conducted on Day 2 of the Skill Course for Gynecologists and on Day 3 of the Skill Course for Surgeons
